Preparation and training for future foster carers


During March Centre for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad started with program of preparation and training of candidates for foster carers. Program "Safe steps to foster" which is consisted of 11 workshops is implemented simultaneously in three groups of candidates.

First group that is consisted of 25 candidates form Novi Sad, Beočin, Ruma and Temerin is working in Children's Village "Dr Milorad Pavlović" in Sremska Kamenica. Preparation and training of second group with 24 participants from Irig, Žabalj, Indjija, and Bačka Palanka takes place in Centre for Social Welfare in Novi Sad. Third group with 17 participants from Novi Bečej and Bečej works in Gerontological Centre "Bečej" in Bečej.

This is the first regional activity of Centre for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad since the beginning of it's work with service users in September 2015. It is planned to train six more groups of candidates for foster carers by the end of 2016. In this was Centre for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad develops network of foster families in South Bačka, Srem and Srednjobanatski District. It is planed that during 2016. more than 100 families and included in process of preparation and training for foster carers. Also, two groups are planed for preparation and training for future adoptive parents.
