Conference "Independent living for all"


On friday, december 22, 2017. in the hall of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, the introductory conference "Independent living for all" was organized by the Foundation for children and youth Children's Village "Dr Milorad Pavlović" from Sremska Kamenica and the Center for foster care and and adoption of Novi Sad, which is realized within the project "Independent living for all", implemented in partnership by the two institutions. The project is funded through the program Development of effective community services in the field of education and social protection at the local level, IPA 2013.
This introductory conference was organized with the aim of ensuring the connectivity of the carrier and project partner with various stakeholders, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as a profit scout, in order to inform everyone about the possibilities for the service to be launched and developed. Also, in this way, through the exchange of experience, the service providers are supported by support, as well as the establishment of further cooperation.
The project started in June 2017, and it is planned to last 24 months. It focuses on solving the problem of social exclusion of young people leaving the social protection system, especially young people with disabilities, and focus on their social inclusion through providing regional service Supported housing. The goal of the project is to establish service, standardization, licensing and ensuring sustainability, which will contribute to improving the quality of life of young people (aged 15 to 26) who leave the social protection system.
The purpose of this service is to help young people leaving the system (housing or foster care) to become independent and to achieve full autonomy, and to become more easily integrated into the community. The service offers appropriate, time-limited accommodation and the most important is the professional support in developing skills necessary for users to achieve full autonomy and engage in community life.
